After working with Defected at their Glitterbox residency at Booom Ibiza this summer, we’ve taken the relationship further.
‘Do You Feel The Same?’ is now set to get a release on Defected in February next year with a full set of fabulous new remixes, and the video you see below.
Working with Defected has been a joy and we’re looking forward to them helping us reach a whole lot more house music lovers with what has been many people’s favourite track from ‘Feast of the Broken Heart’.
More news on the release date and the remixes will follow very soon, but for now we have to tell you about the video.
This is our most ambitious video to date and to create it we brought together fashion, ballet and technology.
The inspiration for the video came from Andy commenting on the close ties between ballet and dance music. “At the meeting with Defected, the eyes lit up, and I got to write an email to Josh Johnson, my friend at the Forsythe Company inviting him to get involved.’
“I have been a fan of the Forsythe ballet for many years, and was waiting for the moment to collaborate. We then dreamed up the idea of getting in touch with Bernhard Willhelm, a mutual friend and the whole thing was a go.”
Bernard is a world renowned fashion designer, known for his love of incorporating absurdity into high end design. Possibly most known in the music industry through infamous collaborations with Bjork, Willhelm has unleashed the full force of his resplendent creatively on this project.
We shot the video on Infra-red-converted digital cameras – which capture a completely different light spectrum – with directors AlexandLianne, who are both brilliant and renowned for their work on music videos and commercials. Along with producer Nathan Scherrer they have tied these strands of talent together.
Josh summed up the experience, ‘Andy invited us into his house and we stayed in comfort. Rapt in his talents and beats, we started to feel the same and along with Alex, Liane and Bernhard we made something really special”.
It’s been an honour to bring together the visions of this choreographer, directors and designer on this video and we hope you love it as much as we do.
